How to Use DDAVP:
Tablet

  • Your doctor will tell you how much of DDAVP to use and how often. Do not use more medicine or use it more often than your doctor tells you to.
  • You may take DDAVP with or without food.
  • Your doctor may want you to decrease the amount of fluids that you drink while you are taking DDAVP.

If a dose is missed:

  • Keep all medicine away from children and never share your medicine with anyone.

Drugs and Foods to Avoid:
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before using any other medicine, including over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.

  • Make sure your doctor knows if you are also taking blood pressure or heart medicines, or if you have just stopped using nasal DDAVP.

Warnings While Using DDAVP:

  • Make sure your doctor knows if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have heart disease, kidney disease, high blood pressure, or problems with fluid balance, such as cystic fibrosis.
  • Your doctor will need to check your progress at regular visits while you are using DDAVP. Be sure to keep all appointments.
